This year the Lord has granted my husband and I with two of our biggest desires of our hearts. First we were blessed with the news of expecting our first child and our second desire of visiting the Holy Land of Israel. This dream of visiting the land where Jesus walked, preached, healed and did miracles was originally planned before knowing we were expecting our baby. When we found out we were pregnant and had this trip around the corner we thought: “Wow, this couldn’t have been planned any better” Thank you Lord.
The three of us (baby in my belly) were finally ready to embark on this trip of a lifetime our excitement was beyond words because The bible was about to come alive like never before. When we got to Israel we were so happy to see that it is one of the most beautiful Countries we have ever visited, the people were friendly and not once did we feel unsafe, on the contraire there was an amazing spiritual peace, especially at the Sea of Galilee.
Our trip began in Tel- Aviv which in Hebrew means “Old new Land” it is a beautiful city by the Mediterranean ocean, much like Miami mixed in with the silicon valley in the Bay Area, so contemporary and the hub for high tech companies. Next to Tel-Aviv is Jaffa where Jonah was swallowed by a whale (Jonah 1:17.) From there we went to the city of “Caesarea” named after Herod the great. Our next stop was the Village of Nazareth. Nazareth has a huge biblical importance because it’s where Jesus grew up and started His ministry. We even got to see what it was like living in that era as Jesus did, this was at a place called the Nazareth Village. (Luke 4:29)
As we were driving from city to city we realized Israel is not that big, but can you imagine during Jesus’ time traveling by foot or on a donkey? It would sometimes take days or weeks to get from one place to another. After our visit to Nazareth we headed over to Tiberias, a town right on the Sea of Galilee. The Sea of Galilee was so magical, and by far one of our favorite places. The peace you feel there is priceless, the Sea of Galilee, which is really a lake, can get waves as big as the Sea depending on the size of the storm.
The very next morning we sailed in the Sea of Galilee in a boat that’s a replica of the one that Jesus and His disciples would use over 2,000 years ago while fishing. The sun was bright, the birds were chirping, the weather was perfect and the wooden boat was beautiful. During our boat ride our captain David started playing some music, to our pleasant surprise, he starts playing “Oceans” by “Hillsong,” this is the music from our home Church in NYC, what are the chances of that happening?!?!?! It was totally divine. Edgar and I couldn’t hold back our tears of joy, as we prayed, Edgar was rubbing my belly speaking to our baby, all while being amazed by the fact that our feet were touching the water of The Sea of Galilee, the same water that Jesus walked on. (Matthew 14:22-33.)
It was so spiritually fulfilling to imagine that as we were in the middle of the Sea of Galilee around 2,000 years ago Jesus had done miracles in that same area as well as in the beautiful green hills that surrounded us. I have to tell you if my faith was strong before, now that we experienced the Holy Land I truly feel that with God anything is possible.
That same day after visiting the Sea of Galilee we went to Mt Beatitudes, Capernaum and finished at the Jordan River where we got re-baptized in our faith. The three (My Hubby, Baby and I) of us got baptized in the same river that Jesus was baptized. Mind blowing, I know! I couldn’t stop crying of joy. We walked a lot but I think the baby enjoyed it. My Chuku (Hubby) did an amazing job taking care of me during this trip, he was always making sure I was feeling good and staying hydrated. I am so grateful for the wonderful husband God sent me.
We also visited and floated on the Dead Sea, the lowest point in the world where the water has so many minerals. After the Dead Sea we had to opportunity to stop by Masada a huge Plato in the desert where Herod the great created another an amazing community with an unbelievable view of the entire Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea. After this we were finally on our way to Jerusalem. In Jerusalem we got to visit the Western Wall, The City of David, the place of the last supper, the Via Dolorosa where Jesus carried the cross, where He was crucified, buried and three days later resurrected.
The tomb of Jesus was another powerful place we will never forget. This place was emotional because we got to physically touch the place where Jesus resurrected. It was a true blessing to be at the tomb, which is now surrounded by a beautiful garden. It was so special for my Chuku and I because we got to meet a wonderful couple from England who happened to be Pastors. We ended up praying together and taking communion at the garden next to the tomb. The message that we got from this experience is that we all have access to that resurrection power of Jesus in our lives.
The same way that the Lord granted my husband and I with two of our hearts’ biggest desires this year, I believe that God will make any of your desires come true as well, you just have to ask Him (God) for what it is you want. God has no limits…therefore your prayers shouldn’t either. Pray big and believe big. You must have faith, patience and be ready for when He (God) delivers His promises of prosperity in your life.
Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.

Este año, el Señor nos a concedido a mi marido y a mi con dos de nuestros mayores deseos de nuestro corazón. Primero fuimos bendecidos con la noticia de que estamos esperarando nuestro primer bebe y nuestro segundo deseo de visitar la Tierra Santa de Israel. Este sueño de visitar la tierra donde Jesús caminó, predicó, sanó e hizo milagros se planeó originalmente antes de saber que esperábamos nuestro bebé. Cuando nos dimos cuenta de que estabamos esperando y teníamos nuestro viaje a la vuelta de la esquina pensamos: “Wow, esto no pudo haber sido planeado mejor” Gracias Señor.
Nosotros tres incluyendo al bebé en mi vientre estabamos listos para embarcar en este viaje de nuestras vidas, nuestra emoción fue más allá de las palabras, porque la Biblia estaba a punto de volverse realidad. Cuando llegamos a Israel estábamos muy contentos de ver que es uno de los más bellos países que hemos visitado, la gente era amable y no hubo una vez en que nos sintieramos inseguros, al contrario había una paz increíble espiritual, especialmente en el mar de Galilea.
Nuestro viaje comenzó en Tel-Aviv, que en hebreo significa “Vieja Nueva Tierra” es una hermosa ciudad junto al mar Mediterráneo, se parese mucho a Miami mezclado con Silicon Valley en San Jose CA en el area de la bahia por lo contemporáneo y el centro para empresas de alta tecnología. Al lado de Tel-Aviv esta Jaffa, donde Jonás fue tragado por una ballena (Jonás 1:17). Desde ahí nos fuimos a la ciudad de “Cesárea” nombrado despues de Herodes el Grande. Nuestra siguiente parada fue el pueblo de Nazaret. Nazaret tiene una enorme importancia bíblica porque es donde Jesús creció y comenzó su ministerio. Incluso nos toco conocer como era la vida en esa época como lo hizo Jesús, esto fue en un lugar llamado la Villa de Nazaret. (Lucas 4:29)
Mientras nos dirijiamos de ciudad en ciudad nos dimos cuenta de que Israel no es tan grande, pero te puedes imaginar a Jesús viajando a pie o en un burro en aquellos tiempos? Tomaban dias o semanas para ir de un lugar a otro. Después de nuestra visita a Nazaret nos dirigimos a Tiberías, una ciudad justo a la orilla del mar de Galilea. El mar de Galilea fue tan mágico, uno de nuestros lugares favoritos. La paz que se siente ahí no tiene precio, el Mar de Galilea, que en realidad es un lago puede llegar a tener olas tan grandes como el mar todo depende del tamaño de la tormenta.
A la mañana siguiente nos diriguimos a navegar en el mar de Galilea en un barco que era una réplica en la que Jesús y sus discípulos usaron hace más de 2,000 años durante la pesca. El sol brillaba, los pájaros cantaban, el tiempo estaba perfecto y el barco de madera era precioso. Durante nuestro paseo en el barco el capitán David empezó a tocar un poco de música, y para nuestra sorpresa, comenzo a tocar “Oceans” de “Hillsong,” esta es la música de nuestra Iglesia en Nueva York, Fue un momento divino. Edgar y yo no podíamos contener las lágrimas de alegría, mientras orábamos, Edgar estaba frotando mi vientre hablando a nuestro bebe, todo esto mientras no cabiamos de la emocion del hecho de que nuestros pies tocaban el agua del mar de Galilea, la misma agua que Jesús siguió su camino. (Mateo 14: 22-33.)
Fue un momento tan pleno espiritualmente al imaginar que estábamos en el medio del mar de Galilea y que hace unos 2,000 años atrás Jesús había hecho milagros en esa misma zona, así como en las hermosas colinas verdes que nos rodeaban. Tengo que decir que si mi fe era fuerte antes, ahora que hemos experimentado la Tierra Santa Creo de verdad que con Dios todo es posible.
Ese mismo día, después de visitar el Mar de Galilea fuimos a Mt Beatitudes, Capernaum y terminamos en el río Jordán donde nos re-bautizamos en la fe. Los tres (mi marido, bebé y yo) fuimos bautizados en el mismo río que Jesús fue bautizado. No podía dejar de llorar de alegría. Caminamos mucho, pero creo que el bebé lo disfrutó mucho. Mi Chuku (mi marido) hizo un excelente trabajo cuidandome durante este viaje, se aseguraba que me sintiera bien y que estuviera bien hidratada. Estoy muy agradecida con Dios por el maravilloso esposo que me envio.
También visitamos y flotamos en el Mar Muerto, el punto más bajo en el mundo donde el agua tiene muchos minerales. Después de visitar el Mar Muerto tuvimos la oportunidad de pasar por Masada una enorme montaña en el desierto, donde Herodes el Grande creó otra comunidad increíble con una vista espectacular de todo el valle de Jordán y el Mar Muerto. Después de esto por fin nos dirigimos a Jerusalén. En Jerusalén, llegamos a visitar el Muro Occidental, la ciudad de David, el lugar de la última cena, la Vía Dolorosa, donde Jesús cargó la cruz, donde había sido crucificado, sepultado y resucitado tres días después.
La tumba de Jesús fue otro lugar inolvidable. Este lugar fue emotivo porque llegamos a tocar físicamente el lugar donde Jesús resucito. Fue una verdadera bendición estar en la tumba, que ahora está rodeada por un hermoso jardín. Fue aun mas especial para mi Chuku y para mi porque conocimos a una pareja maravillosa de Inglaterra que resultaron ser pastores. Terminamos orando juntos y tomando la comunión en el jardín junto a la tumba. El mensaje que recibimos de esta experiencia es que todos tenemos acceso a ese poder de la resurrección de Jesús en nuestras vidas.
De la misma manera que el Señor nos concedió a mi marido y a mi con dos de los mayores deseos de nuestro corazón este año, creo que Dios hará realidad cualquiera de tus deseos, sólo hay que preguntarle a Dios por lo que tu quieras. Dios no tiene límites … por lo tanto, tus oraciones no deben tener limites tampoco. Ora en grande y cree en grande. Debes tener fe, paciencia y estar listo para cuando Dios libere sus promesas de prosperidad en tu vida.
Deléitate en el Señor, y él te concederá las peticiones de tu corazón.
